Jill Taylor and Charles Hazell participated as panelists at two interesting speaking engagements for upcoming conferences in Ontario.
Jill spoke as part of the Ontario Heritage Conference 2016, in Stratford & St. Marys, the theme being “Preservation in a Changing World”. Jill presented on Accessibility Legislation and Issues with Heritage Buildings. Joining her was Rollo Myers, Georgiana Stanciu and Tina Bickell, addressing and discussing this important issue.
Charles joined a prestigious group of panelists at the OAA Annual Conference 2016, speaking in the session “The Design Review Panel—Making Architecture Matter More?” This important discussion centred around the role of the Design Review Panel and its merits, or lack thereof, to the architectural and greater community. Charles was joined by 5 industry colleagues to review both sides of this contentious issue and help participants understand both sides of the debate, forming their own opinion about this step in the approval process. It was an engaging and educational event.
We are proud that the OAA selected Casa Loma, one of our treasured projects, as the venue for the conference’s opening party.
