Jill Taylor & Charles Hazell speak at National Trust Conference 2018

THA heads to Fredericton, NB to attend Canada’s largest heritage event, the National Trust Conference (Oct 18-20). With the theme, “Opportunity Knocks: Heritage as a Social, Economic, and Placemaking Force,” the conference will explore the transformative power of heritage to reinvigorate cities and towns and to galvanize communities.

THA Principals will present alongside a storied roster from across the heritage profession: grassroots advocates, planners, government officials and policy makers. Charles will explore conservation challenges and heritage relevance in remote and rural contexts, citing THA’s rehabilitation of three lighthouses on the east coast. Jill will speak to reconciling meaning at complex sites, such as those that hold difficult memories, based on regenerations of large sites of justice, hospital and corrections use.
