We welcome Interns Georgina and Yoon during an exciting time for THA as we return to full in person work at our office at 2928 Dundas Street West in the West Toronto Junction.
Yoon Hur is a third year undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture who is joining the THA team for her 2022 8-month co-op term. She has previous experience as a product/graphic designer and a commissioned artist. Yoon’s past co-op terms have included experience in landscape architecture, as well as coordinating the University of Waterloo Student Housing Master Plan. As an important member of our team she is involved in a multitude of project roles and is assisting now on site visits and contract documents for the restoration of the Law Society Ontario building in downtown Toronto, working through Contract Administration for the Whitney Block Renovation and Conservation Project across from Queen’s Park, and as assistant to the project manager Associate Nuri Lee in Contract Administration for the rebuild of the Jones Avenue School for the TDSB. She is an active participant in our social media program and helping us to expand our reach.
Georgina Blay is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture who is joining the THA team for her final co-op term. She has previous experience as a commissioned digital artist, and is active in online art communities. Georgina’s past co-op terms have included experience in 3D modelling and rendering, as well as renovation of residence buildings. She is excited to continue to work with existing buildings and to learn about heritage conservation. She is primarily involved with Contract Drawings for the conservation of beautiful Manitoba Legislative Building in Winnipeg, but is also supporting the THA team in the restoration work for the Law Society Ontario, and for the spectacular rebuild of the York Memorial Collegiate Institute in Toronto.
We are THA are very grateful for the work of our interns, and for the opportunity to mentor the next generation of architects within our profession.
