THA invites you to view our new exhibit featuring Toronto’s R. C Harris Water Treatment Plant. This internationally recognized masterpiece of civil engineering and Art Deco design was conserved and restored by THA over the course of two decades. The completed work shows conservation craftsmanship on a grand scale using a wide range of masonry and metal materials, some created just for this project.
The exhibit includes two spectacular photographic enlargements (kindly loaned to us by the City of Toronto), of the R. C. Harris project under construction. Folded panel display boards describe THA’s work with the owner and contractor. Note Bene: Our office at 2928 Dundas West is another example of Art Deco architecture. Built in 1919, the listed building demonstrates a pleasure and interest in craftsmanship, materiality and design: qualities that can be seen in other buildings along the historic West Toronto Junction commercial row.
